In the subject
of health, CIVAJA is responsible for the implantation of DSEI - Special
Sanitary Districts Indigenous, through agreement with FUNASA - National
Foundation of Health. The purpose of those districts, according to FUNASA
(1.999) it is to establish a politics of attention the indigenous health, in
way to guarantee to the indigenous people your universal and integral right
to the health, respecting your partner-cultural specifications and the
traditional systems of health. The social control is exercised by Council of
Health with representation group of indigenous users, in conformity with the
constitutional beginnings and you delegate that orientate SUS - unique
system of Health. |
In the end of
1.999, the agreement FUNASA/CIVAJA, hired two (2) doctors for periodic visits
the villages and attendance in the Hospital and in the Clinic of the House of
the Indian of Atalaia do Norte, two (2) nurses that travel the several villages
and several nurse assistants that render services of first attendance in the own
villages. There are still the agents of health indigenous (Indians) of each
community that are being qualified as microscopistas for malaria identification
and in the prevention of other diseases. These agents of the community's health
serve as link between the medical team and the indigenous people.

In the problem
of the health, it fits to point out the performance of the organization non
government international M.S.F. - Doctors Without Borders - Holland, close
to the indigenous communities of the valley of Javari, especially in the
agents' of health formation and in the attempt of promoting the sanitary
education. In the enormous territorial extension of performance of CIVAJA
(approximately of 8,5 million hectares), the construction of six is foreseen
(07) Poles - Bases (Unit of Support to the health centers), in the
communities: Kanamari - São Luiz; Matis - Ituí; Mayoruna - 31; Kanamari -
Massapé; Marubo - São Sebastião and Vida Nova.

Operation
Execution of the actions of Basic Attention of health is accomplished in
partnership with the Indigenous Council of the Valley of Javari, by agreement,
municipal district and state.
The net of Basic Attention is composed by two teams of several disciplines of
indigenous health, that will cover the Pole-bases of Matis, São Luís, 31,
Maronal, Vida Nova, Massapê, and health small centers in anothers villages.
